Louis Kantrowitz
Born: 1851, Russia
Died: ?
Louis Kantrowitz was first known in Blackhawk, Colorado, where he was co-owner of that city’s most successful dry goods store, Goldman & Kantrowitz, from 1865 to 1880. [1] It is unclear what became of the firm, but Louis came to Leadville in 1880, where he briefly operated as a tailor from his residence at 712 East 5th Street. [2] It appears that the operation was unsuccessful, and Louis relocated to Denver in 1881. [3]
